The Tan is an inquisitive and active breed, that
reaches an adult weight of 4 to 6 pounds. Our breeding program
primarily includes Black and Blue
Tans. We have a particular passion for the dilutes of this breed. They are eyecatching to say the least!
The Tan's body type is neither extremely
heavy, nor extremely thin. The body should balance with the
length of limb. Tans are an arched breed and should carry itself
well off the table allowing the beauty of the markings to show. The
markings should be clearly defined and the tan color should carry from the chest to the tip of the tail without fading. The challenge in showing Blues (and Lilacs as well) is they are often compared to the intensity of the Blacks instead of being judged on the merits as a dilute variety.
We've found our Tans to
be delightfully intelligent rabbits. We provide them toys for
entertainment - paper tubes, card board boxes, plastic balls with
bells inside, plastic rings, and multi-level cages. We haven't
figured out yet who's being entertained more - the rabbits or us.
Tans are a very affectionate rabbit but most aren't cuddle bunnies.
They like to be petted and admired and are good for a hug but they want
to explore and interact with the world around them on their own. We spend a lot of time working with our
Tans just because they are so much fun to work with - they are a
rabbit loaded with personality and spunk. And smart.
Tans are grace and beauty - a stunning rabbit. Click here for more detailed information on this wonderful breed. |
