Because of the distance involved for some of the checkpoints, you'll notice we haul camping gear with us as well. Folks at the campgrounds are impressed when we pull in for several reasons... first - our bikes are whisper quiet. Secondly, you'd never guess we were carrying two tents and camping gear for three people. And lastly, how well our grandson travels with us. He's fitted for everything a kid could possibly need on road trips... besides his own safety equipment, he has a gameboy with lots of games for hours of non-stop entertainment, a digital camera (he takes hundreds of pictures each trip) and his own personal tunes. He puts up and takes down his own tent. He's a great traveling companion.
Oh by the way, these aren't the only places we have traveled to this year on two wheels... just the one's for the Grand Tour are noted here. If I have time, I'll put together some really fun pictures of our other adventures on two wheels I think everyone will enjoy. If I don't have a picture posted for the location, it's only because I haven't gotten around to it yet. There's just not enough hours in one day to do everything I'd like to. |
