Blue gray eyes. Even dove gray on top.
Brilliant tan coloring on the underside, tail, and nose highlight.
We've dabbled with Lilacs on and off for a number of years. We didn't much like what we were getting out of the variety when we were working them through Chocolates (their dominant counterpart). For those of you who don't know us, Chocolate isn't one of our preferred varieties primarily because of the color change the coats go through when they are molting... or even just thinking about molting. If you work with Chocolates you know exactly what we are talking about.
For years breeders complained about how the dilutes in this breed weren't keeping pace with the development of the Blacks. Long story short, we revamped our Lilac breeding plans from the ground up. Our Lilacs now have the same type our Blacks do. The Tan factor is dead on consistent from their chin to the tip of their tails. Black breeders would just about kill for this kind of consistency. Our Lilacs exhibit nice, full collars and wide chests. They have a shorter coat resulting in crisp, clear markings. You don't see a lot of Lilacs at the shows but it's a fun variety to work with... definitely challenging, infinitely rewarding.
